Changes

17 years ago this month, I began the job my heart told me was the work I was destined to do. That work has continued to fill my heart with wonderful friends and so many opportunities to learn and grow. I am a better person today thanks to the support and example of many of you. This last year has helped me lean into my life and realize that there are other parts of me I want to live and grow before the opportunities are gone. I am rarely without words. However, finding the words to tell you of my decision to retire from this dream job that I have treasured for so long is more difficult than I thought.

I want you to know that I HAVE treasured each day of it. Like Winnie The Pooh, I am privileged to have something so hard to say goodbye to. And yet, it is time for me to step back, find some new adventures, enjoy time with Rusty and my family and allow someone else to step up into the work. I am excited to witness the potential that is possible when new ideas and new energy join the cause of peace and justice.

The Coordinating Council and I are discussing the timing. They, along with Carol Schwartz, are the start of an amazing new team poised to continue our work, take on new challenges and make sure that peace continues to be visible in Missoula. I will still be part of this amazing peace community – to support our new director, see that the old Missoula Peace Sign once again is whole and hopefully give each of you an in-person hug at a Peace Party later this year.

Thank you for the love and support you have given me – I will be taking that with me on every new adventure.
