Help Us Send 1,000 Peace Cranes to the United Nations for World Peace Day – read guidelines carefully to participate.
2025 Theme: Act Now for a Peaceful World
On September 21, 2025 the world will observe World Peace Day (International Day of Peace). This year’s UN theme — Act Now for a Peaceful World — calls on everyone to take concrete steps toward non-violence, respect, and understanding. As our contribution, we’re sending 1,000 folded paper cranes to the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a symbol of peace, unity, and hope for all 193 member states.

Guidelines for how you can help:
Use paper 6 inches square or smaller — no exceptions.
Fold neatly so cranes are uniform and well-formed.
Bring cranes in counted, labeled bags — ideally in groups of 25.
Deadline / Drop-off: Bring counted, labeled bags to the Peace Center by September 15, 2025, anytime between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Whether you fold 5 cranes or 50, your contribution is a concrete action for peace. Join us in sending a visible, heartfelt message to the world.
Sew-Along for Soft Landing
JRPC Community Room | 5–8 PM
Join us on Friday, September 5th at the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center for a special First Friday event with the Missoula Peace Quilters. Together, we’ll sew a quilt of welcome for Soft Landing Missoula, honoring and supporting refugees and immigrants in our community.
All materials are provided by the Missoula Peace Quilters. No sewing experience required—come even if you’re not interested in sewing! This is a chance to learn about Soft Landing and connect with the community through hands-on creativity.
