Give Yourselves

To the wrongs that need resistance, To the right that needs assistance,
To the future in the distance, Give yourselves. ~ Carrie Chapman Catt

Dear friends,

If 2020 has taught us anything it is that the ability and willingness to adapt is key. That’s what this week is about. It is great that record numbers of people showed up to vote. But what is more important is that the same record numbers show up every day to do the work of co-creating this democracy with liberty and justice for all. The fractures in our country that need healing have never been more apparent. It is not the work of anyone we elected – rather it is we who need to roll up our sleeves and keep working. Take a break now and renew because the future needs you! It has never been more important to offer ourselves and each other – peace! You can start by joining me in signing this pledge to rise above the division and hatred and live our better angels

And then, check out our Peace Offerings online – our adapted peace party auction! So many generous folks have offered their time and talent to support this important work. Several businesses have offered gift certificates and items despite seeing income losses this year. And our community has stepped up with handmade quilts, meals, pies, cookies, garden help and even a cooking class with a well-known local chef. All of this is a testament to how important we are to each other, and how important the Peace Center is to our community. Now it is up to you. Go to our Peace Offerings site, sign up with an account and start bidding. The auction will be live from 5 pm Nov 6 until 5 pm on Sunday, November 15.

With your support, we’ll roll up our sleeves and get to work with you,

Betsy
