We are looking for Missoula peacemakers. Who do you know who walks the walk daily; who bravely addresses conflict; who makes justice for all central to everything they do; who is not afraid to stir the waters a little — or a lot; who is brave enough to speak the truth; who teaches us to be better; who inspires you?
We are fortunate over the years to have celebrated local heroes like Kathi and Woody Wood helping people around t he world, Claudia Brown working hard to save the planet, Mike Chessin saving the world from nuclear disaster, Dan Gallagher going beyond the Divide, Jim Caron and Jane McAllister teaching children to know peace, Josh Slotnick creating farms and food out of earth, Carel Schneider and Women in Black standing against violence, Ethel MacDonald living her values, Amy Martin gifting us with the music of peace, Peter Shober and Fr. Jim Hogan leading us in faith and justice, Rita Jankowska-Bradley, Scott Nicholson, Bryony Schwan, Liz Rantz, Pete Lawrenson, Tammy Elser, John Agner, Alice Campbell, Julie Grant, Tom Javins, Scott Morgan, Beth Sirr, Anita Doyle, Pat Ortmeyer, Perry Gliessmann, Connie Skousen, Butch Turk, Jim Ranney and our first honoree Flo Chessin — all teaching us a little bit more about how to walk in this world. We are grateful to each of these individuals for the example they set, and we are in search of the next person to stand with them as Missoula’s 30th Peacemaker. Tell us who you think deserves this honor. Click here for a nomination form.
